Before television, the internet or books there was puppetry. Southeast Asia has
been a home for this humble art for thousands of years.
Teatrong Mulat Ng Pilipinas (Philippine theater of the Awakening)
has been a cultural ambassadorship for the Philippines since 1977. It was founded by Amelia Lapeña-Bonifacio, now English Professor
Emeritus and University Professor of the University
of the Philipppines. Mulat re-orients the Filipino soul to its roots and
orients the rest of the world to the cultural identity of the Philippines.
Welcome to our space on the internet. While we can not share the true magic of puppetry through the computer medium,
we hope this site will help you find it one way or another. Of course the best way to see for yourself would be
to visit us. ;-)
